SMS Relay — Privacy Policy

SMS Relay forwards only the SMS messages you choose, to destinations you configure. TEQNEIA servers never receive your SMS content, unless you point an API adapter at a TEQNEIA system yourself.

Applies to: the SMS Relay Android app and its supporting TEQNEIA backend.Service Provider: TEQNEIA ICT (Beverly Hills - Egypt)

1. Who we are

SMS Relay is developed and operated by TEQNEIA ICT (“TEQNEIA”, “we”, “us”), Beverly Hills - Egypt.

Contact: support@teqneia.com

2. Our commitments at a glance

  • TEQNEIA servers store only your name, mobile number, email address and subscription type.
  • SMS messages are read on your device only, and only incoming messages (we never read your existing inbox).
  • A message is forwarded only if it matches a filter you created, and only to a destination you configured.
  • OTP / verification-code messages are detected and never forwarded, even if they match your filters.
  • Your destination credentials (SMTP password, Telegram bot token, API token) stay on your device, encrypted.
  • We do not sell, rent or share your data for advertising. The app contains no ads and no advertising SDKs.
  • You can delete your account and data at any time, in the app or on the web.

3. Information stored on TEQNEIA servers

TEQNEIA servers store only the account information below. We use it only to run your account and subscription.

DataWhy we need itSource
First and last nameIdentify your account; supportYou, at registration
Mobile number (international format)Log in with a one-time code; unique account IDYou, verified by SMS code
Email addressAccount and subscription notices; supportYou
Subscription type and statusApply plan limits (Free / Paid, renewal or expiry date)Google Play, verified by our server

We also keep minimal technical records needed to operate securely: purchase verification records (purchase tokens are stored hashed and encrypted, never your card details) and security logs (for example, request time and IP address for rate limiting and abuse prevention).

We do not store on our servers: SMS content, sender numbers of your messages, your filters, your adapter settings, or your destination credentials. We never receive your payment card details; Google Play handles payment.

4. How SMS Relay uses SMS permission

SMS Relay uses the Android Receive SMS permission only, so it can see each new message as it arrives. Forwarding SMS to destinations you choose is the app's core function.

  • No inbox access: The app does not request permission to read your existing messages, send SMS or access call logs.
  • Consent first: Before Android asks for the permission, the app explains exactly what it does and you must tap “Agree”.
  • On-device filtering: Each incoming SMS is checked on your phone against your filters (a sender, plus up to two optional keywords). Messages that match no filter are ignored and not stored.
  • Local log: Matched messages are kept in an encrypted log on your device so you can see delivery status. You choose how long it is kept (15 to 180 days, default 45), and you can clear it anytime.
  • No changes to your messages: The app never deletes, edits or marks messages as read, and never blocks them from your normal SMS app.

5. One-time passwords are never forwarded

Security Guarantee: OTP Interception Protection

SMS Relay detects one-time passwords and verification codes (for example, bank OTPs, login codes, Firebase sign-in codes) and never forwards them, even when they match your filters.

These messages are dropped on the device and are not sent to any destination. This protects your accounts if a destination is ever compromised.

SMS Relay is not designed or marketed for reading OTPs, and must not be used to access other people's accounts or messages.

6. Where your messages go

Matched messages travel directly from your phone to the destination you set up. They do not pass through TEQNEIA servers. Each forward contains the sender, the time received, and the full message text.

Destination (adapter)How it is sentWho receives the data
TelegramSent by the Telegram bot whose token you provide, to the chat ID you provide, over HTTPS.Telegram and the members of that chat; subject to Telegram's Privacy Policy.
EmailSent through your own SMTP server using the account you provide, to the recipient you specify, over an encrypted connection (SSL/TLS or STARTTLS).Your email provider and the recipient.
APISent over HTTPS to the API address you configure, with your API token. The operator of that API.

When TEQNEIA receives SMS content

TEQNEIA receives SMS content only when you configure an API adapter that points to a TEQNEIA system, such as the TEQNEIA Payment Service used by E-Mart merchants for wallet payment confirmation. In that case only the messages matching that adapter's filter are sent, and they are handled under that service's own terms and privacy policy, not stored by the SMS Relay backend.

Your responsibility for destinations

You choose and control every destination. Use only email accounts, Telegram bots, chats and APIs that you own or are authorized to use. Once a message reaches a destination, its handling is governed by that destination's operator. Forwarding messages that belong to someone else, without their consent, may be unlawful.

Your use of SMS Relay must comply with the laws of your country; unlawful use is your sole responsibility. See our Terms of Use.
